Privacy policy
We collect almost nothing. This page explains exactly what happens to your data when you visit this site, donate, or contact us.
Who we are
HÅP & FREMTID (trading as Hope & Future) is a registered Norwegian association, organisation number 835 783 952, Værftsgata 10, 1511 Moss, Norway. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at info@hopefutureglobal.org or +47 908 42 276.
What this website stores
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts of any kind. Two small values are saved in your own browser and never sent to us: your language choice, and a note that you have already seen a pop-up so we do not show it twice. Both stay on your device and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Fonts
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. This means your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads. We use no other third-party service on the site itself.
When you donate
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or Vipps MobilePay. Your card details never reach this website and we never see or store them. Those providers collect the information they need to take the payment, under their own privacy policies. We receive a record of the donation — amount, date, and the name and email you gave them — so we can account for the funds and send you a receipt.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter we ask only for your email address. You will be sent a confirmation link and are only added to the list once you click it, so we always hold a record of your consent. The list is managed by Brevo, a European provider whose servers are in the EU. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just email us. We use your address for nothing else and never share it.
When you contact us
If you email or call us we keep your message and contact details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Our email runs on Google Workspace.
Photographs
Everyone shown in photographs on this site has given their consent to appear, and for children that consent was given by a parent or guardian. If you appear in a photograph and want it removed, email us and we will take it down.
Why we are allowed to do this
We rely on your consent for photographs; on the necessity of performing our side of a donation for payment records; and on our legal obligation under Norwegian bookkeeping rules to retain accounting records.
Who else handles your data
Only the suppliers we need to run the organisation: Stripe and Vipps MobilePay for payments, Google Workspace for email, Brevo for the newsletter, and Hostinger for website hosting. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and we never share donor information for marketing.
How long we keep it
Accounting records, including donation records, are kept for five years after the end of the financial year, as Norwegian law requires. Correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or withdraw consent you have given. Email info@hopefutureglobal.org and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.no.
Transfers outside Europe
Some of our suppliers, including Stripe and Google, may process data outside the EU/EEA. They do so under the transfer safeguards required by European data protection law.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
